Ekalaka Camp

Location

This is a premier hunting camp and is located near Ekalaka, a friendly western town in the southeast corner of Montana. Here we lease the hunting rights on nearly 150,000 acres including several private ranches consisting of over 68,000 acres with an additional 20,000 acres of adjoining BLM and State land. We are also the only permitted outfitter in portions of the Custer National Forest consisting of approximately 60,000 acres.

Hunting and Terrain

Hunting here is for whitetail, mule deer, antelope, elk, predators, upland birds and turkey. The habitat in this part of the state consists of ponderosa pine timbered hills, grasslands, grain and alfalfa fields, and creek bottoms. It is not uncommon to see two, three, or even all four big game species feeding in the same field. The elevation will vary from a low of 3000' to a high of about 4200'. This camp is known for the excellent trophy quality of all species with our specialty being Mule Deer. This is a "general license" area for deer with elk and antelope being a limited draw area.

Staffing and Capacity

Depending on the time of year and or group size, we operate with 2 - 4 guides and can accommodate up to 8 hunters in camp at a time. From this conveniently located camp we are able to treat our hunters to some of the best hunting this region has to offer.
